Investigators to recommend Jenner face manslaughter
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. has completed its investigation into the fatal Caitlyn Jenner vehicle crash, and we’re told the Sheriff concluded Jenner violated the vehicular manslaughter law and will send the case to the D.A. Shortly after the crash, authorities said it appeared that Howe’s Lexus had crashed into a black Toyota Prius whose driver had slowed or stopped for unknown reasons, prompting Jenner to rear-end the Lexus, pushing it into the path of the Hummer.
Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office will present to prosecutors evidence that Jenner was driving at an unsafe speed when she was involved in a deadly smashup on the Pacific Coast Highway in February, a law-enforcement source said.
A vehicular manslaughter investigation into the cause of the crash was opened days after, CNN reported at the time.
Meanwhile, Howe’s relatives have since filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Jenner.
When interviewed by police after the crash, Jenner told them that she was being followed by paparazzi but was not trying to evade them.
At the time of the accident, Jenner cooperated with investigators, passed a field sobriety test and voluntarily submitted a blood sample. It’s a devastating tragedy and I can not pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. “I will continue to cooperate in every way possible”.
Caitlyn, who was then known as Bruce, released an initial statement over the crash, but has not spoken publicly since.
She has continued to gain notoriety since, appearing in commercials and on TV, including reality shows “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and “I Am Cait”.
