IOS 9 news: Early users complain about issues after upgrade
An issue which prevented people from completing the setup assistant is now gone, and thankfully so is one that meant alarms and timers could sometimes fail.
According to Apple’s details, iOS 9.0.1 fixes an issue that disables setup assistant after performing the iOS 9 update, a problem that affected a large number of early adopters.
The software update also precedes the release of iOS 9.1, which will add new emoji as well as settings for the new “Hey, Siri” feature, enabling the device to acclimate to a user’s voice. The update itself is called iOS 9.0.1, and is available today to anyone with a device able to install iOS 9. Registered iOS developers can download the iOS 9.1 beta from Apple’s Developer site.
Apple has reported the upgrade to iOS9 has been the most successful ever. But for some with older iPhones and iPads, the iOS 9 update release date did not go so well.
At the moment, multiple iOS users from all over the world report that checking for updates on iOS devices will throw an “Unable to check for update”. We reached out to independent tech analyst Jeff Kagan, who told us about his struggles with the new OS. “Always wait a few months for all the bugs to be worked out, because there are always bugs”.
