IOS 9 update bug accidentally tells iPhone owners to download unreleased new
While many confirm this alert, it seems like a glitch in Apple’s servers. The update note reads; “A new iOS update is available”. This has raised tons of questions regarding the new iOS 9 release and the potential of a new jailbreak for iOS 9 and the aforementioned devices! The update is expected to be pushed out to users of the test version hours after that, and then to everyone in about a week. No reason to get excited though, as after receiving this notification, when the developers check for an update to download, there isn’t one. I saw it last night, and went straight to the settings menu to check for updates, only to find out that my iPhone 6 Plus is up to date. At the same time, it also bolsters claims that the full version of iOS 9 will officially start rolling out in a couple of days, once Apple makes the announcement at its September 9 event in San Francisco.
Given the lack of more-recent iOS 9 betas, iOS 9 Gold Master could see the light of day as early as Wednesday.
The system alerts hitting iOS 9 beta users now may be just glitches, but the new OS is nonetheless coming soon.
The new iOS 9 adds a bunch of cool new features, including a smarter Siri with more awareness of context, a lovely new News app, and public-transit directions in the much-maligned Apple Maps.
