IOS Accounts For 78.3% Of Mobile Thanksgiving Shopping
The iPhone and iPad consumers ramped up 78.3% of all orders, while rival Android-based devices managed only a 21.5% share of the mobile e-commerce transactions. For example, Android contributed 22.1% of Thanksgiving sales on mobile this year compared to 19.5% last year. This is according to Custora’s E-Commerce Pulse (via AppleInsider) which analyzed online buyers and shopping trends. The majority of the users turned to Apple hardware for browsing and purchasing, with iPhones and iPads accounting for a major share of the mobile devices tracked through online retailers.
This year’s Thanksgiving experienced a 12.5% year-over-year (YoY) growth in all online orders, with a 10.8% increase in transactions compared to 2014.
The ecommerce sales from phones and tablets are responsible for about 39.3 percent of the market, surpassing 34.3 percent which was hit during the past year.
When talking dollars, Adobe reports that $639 million in Thanksgiving sales came from mobile devices.
As for Android, Google’s mobile operating system contributed about 21.5% of online orders. The results have made Apple iOS 3.6 times stronger than all Android makers in commercial online shopping sector. Additionally, $905 million in Black Friday sales came through mobile. According to comScore, Apple has over 40% of the market share for smartphone usage exclusively in the US.

According to Adobe, sales from mobile devices went up to 33.2 per cent compared to the 27 per cent of the previous year.
Earlier this November, Kantar expected that approximately 43 percent of Android users would transfer to iOS.
