IOS Google Maps App Enables Location Sharing Via Facebook And Messenger

The iOS update is already out but you will have to wait a little more for the Android one. It brings along UI improvements, redesigned transit directions feature and maps sharing options among other regular bug fixes. There is also a new image gallery for places – tap on a photo to get a grid view of all of the images helpful Googlers have posted to Maps. One single tap will remove unnecessary interface elements like the search bar or quick-launch for directions. This update also includes editing captions of photos in Maps.

The latest update to Google Maps for iOS most notably revamps the app’s display of public transport directions so that more route options and real-time arrival information are made available.

Google has released a new update to its free iOS Google Maps application that brings with it a number of new features, tweaks and enhancements. The company particularly mentions that maps can now also be shared on Facebook and Facebook Messenger. It does not allow you to post pins directly in events though…

The new feature is available in Google Maps 4.8.0, and makes it much easier to send a map pin to someone on a desktop computer.
