Iowa State expected to name Toledo’s Matt Campbell new head coach
Iowa State, which bid farewell to coach Paul Rhoads on Saturday, has apparently wasted no time finding a replacement. Power five teams have the size we are going to be playing against in the Big 12. Turning 36 years old today, the Mount Union alum has a 35-15 record as a head coach with a pair of MAC West co-championships, albeit no championship game appearances, and is 2-1 in bowl games. “Two years ago after we played the Cyclones in Ames, I called my wife (Erica) and said, ‘You simply would not believe this place”. Their fans, the game-day environment and facilities are all incredible.
Coach Rhoads was with the Cyclones for seven seasons.
Campbell reportedly has an offer from Iowa State after meeting with Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard earlier in the day.
