IPad Pro Goes on Sale This Week
As announced by Apple earlier today, the iPad Pro will go on sale at Apple Stores, select carriers, and Apple Authorized Resellers in the USA and more than 40 additional countries beginning later this week.
Apple notes that anyone who purchases an iPad Pro in store can be treated to free first-time use assistance, which will include the showing off of certain App Store apps that complement the large device. The keyboard is priced at $169, and the pencil is $99.
iPad Pro will debut in three colours – space grey, gold, and silver – and come in three variants, a $1049 32GB WiFi model; $1249 128GB WiFi model; and a $1429 WiFi+Cellular model.
The Smart Keyboard is a keyboard and case combo for iPad Pro.
“We can’t wait to see what they do with iPad Pro”, said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing. Now all of a sudden you have a keyboard that has been perfectly designed for the iPad, it’s integrated and then you’ve got the software with split view and it’s inherently very productive. The Pencil, which is a stylus, will be sold for $99 and the smart keyboard will cost consumers $169. Under the hood is Apple’s Third-generation 64-bit A9X processor that the company claims to be on par with desktop PCs. Like previous iPads, the iPad Pro is seriously thin, and packs in about 10 hours of battery life.
“iPad Pro and Apple Pencil are the new pad and pen”, said Evi Meyer, CEO of 3D sketching app UMake.
November is the guaranteed release month for the iPad Pro according to Apple’s website, although we so far don’t have an official date.
It is primarily focused on the creative industries and enterprise markets.
