IPad Pro to be available in 40 countries later this week
During the course of an interview with United Kingdom publication The Telegraph on Monday, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted the workstation and media consumption capabilities of his company’s forthcoming iPad Pro big-screen tablet. The new Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil further extends the utility of the device.
According to Mac World, Apple said that iPad Pro will hit its physical Apple Store “later this week”, which usually means Friday.
The new iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch Retina display with 5.6m pixels – the most ever in an iOS device.
Whereas the iPad mini uses a 7.9-inch display and the iPad Air’s display is sized at 9.7-inches, the iPad Pro packs in a large 12.9-inch display with a screen resolution of 2732×2048.
Peripherals such as the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard will be released alongside the iPad Pro once it is available.
Apple notes that anyone who purchases an iPad Pro in store can be treated to free first-time use assistance, which will include the showing off of certain App Store apps that complement the large device.
Both models will be available in silver, gold and “space grey”. That was the question floating in my mind when Apple announced the iPad Pro in September. GST for the Wi-Fi + Cellular 128GB model. The Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard will be sold separately for $99 and $169, respectively.
Sam’s Club, an American chain of membership exclusive retail warehouses owned by Walmart, reportedly has begun to take preorders of the new tablet.
“Select” UK Apple Authorised resellers will get their paws on the hotly anticipated iPad Pro later this week as it goes on sale in this country from £679.
“I think if you’re looking at a PC, why would you buy a PC anymore?” An iPad Pro will cost $799 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model and the 128GB version with 4G costs $1079.
