IPhone 5se to feature A9/M9 chips, always-on Siri
Additionally, along with the rumors about the 4-inch iPhone has come the rumor that new Apple Watch models and possibly the iPad Air 3 will be released.
9to5Mac reports that the phone, which may or may not be called iPhone 5SE, will have Apple’s powerful A9 processor and M9 coprocessor – the same one used in the company’s current flagship, the iPhone 6S.
It was also claimed the device will offer the Live Photos feature from the iPhone 6s, while boasting the same camera configuration as the iPhone 6.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) remains mum as usual about the rumored iPhone 5se, but that hasn’t stopped leaks about what the company is cooking behind the scene. The camera will also be similar to that of iPhone 6 with an 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front shooter. Recently we a saw a leaked image comparing the iPhone 5se to iPhone 5, and now another report has some more details to reveal.
Apple will reportedly unveil a new 4-inch iPhone in March.
Nixing the traditional headphone jack could allow Apple to create an even thinner iPhone.
It is pictured next to an iPhone 5 for scale, showing that the new device will be roughly the same size as its predecessor, with a 4-inch display. In the fall, when Apple is expected to release the iPhone 7, Apple would typically be expected to retire the iPhone 5S, which will be three years old in September.
The chamfered, shiny edges of the 5S has been replaced with curved glass like what is found on the IPhone 6 and 6S.
TechCrunch, which reported on the leak, said the new device is another indication of how Apple has changed throughout the years.
Rumors suggest that the phone will look like the iPhone 5s but will have better internal specs despite featuring a slightly smaller screen.
For a while, Apple has been trying to christen its new upcoming release, but failed to find a ideal name.
