IPhone 7 “Breakthrough”: Wireless Charging Technology
In the face of analyst claims that we’ve finally reached peak iPhone, Apple’s interest in exploring new and innovative mobile technologies remains as vibrant as ever.
The company’s working is under wraps and prototype stage being developed in partnership with United States and Asia.
Wireless charging technology does have its limits, with its biggest factor being speed. As per the rumours, the wireless technology will not be dependant on a charging pad or mat.
Small wonder, then, that Apple has been dissatisfied with the minor convenience afforded by charging methods that still require proximity to charging mats or plugging into a wall socket.
APPLE IS REPORTEDLY DEVELOPING a new contact-free wireless charging technology that looks set to debut on next year’s iPhone 7S.
Apple is now contending with technical issues such as power loss over distance, so a decision is yet to be reached about the new technology’s implementation. At this point, there are already plenty of devices that feature such functionality, so it might seem like Apple is very late to this party with a 2017 model. Electric toothbrushes have been using wireless charging, which is sometimes also called inductive charging, for years.
I am super excited about iPhone 8 already although we are yet to get iPhone 7, are you?
Headphones: More evidence suggests Apple (AAPL) is going with Lightning-based headphones in the iPhone 7, reports Business Insider. The report notes that the speed of the power transfer will decrease “as the distance between transmitter and receiver grows”.
Though many of its competitors added some type of wireless charging to their smartphones, Apple never added the feature to its iPhone.
