IPhone 7 Dual Lens Camera Testing Underway
If Kuo’s report proves valid, this upgrade will be one of the select few camera improvements to not be first exhibited in an “S” iPhone device.
Rumors that Apple could provide dual-camera shooter in its next phone offering surfaced yet again on Tuesday with new reports claiming that Taiwanese manufacturers sent some samples to the phone maker.
Some of the other rumors doing the rounds about the iPhone 7 include removal of 3.5 mm headphone jack, thinner body and longer battery.
If the above observation has any basis in reality, then the next major iPhone redesign should be the iPhone 8 generation, which, assuming Apple keeps up with its past trend of launching a new iPhone No. model every two years, should be released in 2018. The tech company is believed to have received different sample versions of cameras that come quipped with dual lenses from Taiwan’s Largan Technology, its main camera supplier, and other companies from China and Japan. Apple is looking to update the iPhone 7 Plus with Apple is reportedly planning to adopt a dual-lens camera for its next-generation iPhone Plus.
As per the publication, Largan Technology now supplies 60% of the cameras for Apple which raises the possibility of such a product being released this year. Huawei’s smartphone has adopted an image processing chip from Altek for its dual-lens camera.
With Apple set to launch the long-rumoured iPhone 5se on March 15, it’s all been a little quiet on the iPhone 7 front recently.
