IPhone 8: Ultra fast recharging?
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI securities analyst, the second-generation iPhone SE model is not likely to be released in the first half of 2017. Reported by financial services firm, Coven and Company, Apple will pursue more traditional based methods of wirelessly charging its next line of iPhone models. And USB-C ports are physically larger than Lightning – given AAPL’s obsession with making iPhones thinner, switching to a larger port seems unlikely. This brings some of the power benefits of a USB-C port, “Type C Power Delivery”, without changing the physical connector.
Now, that doesn’t mean Apple won’t give the wall adapter for the next iPhone the USB-C treatment, which means devices would ship with a USB-C-to-Lightning cord like the one the MacBook Pro uses now. And then, in 2014, Apple was granted a patent that showed a reversible USB connector that bears an unmistakable resemblance to what we now know as the USB-C standard.
The reason is because it’s vital to maintain that data transmission is stable during fast charging and that the device is safe. Nevertheless, all three iPhone models expected to hit the scene this year should deliver power perks similar to USB-C.
With most of the year’s major Android phone’s having now dropped – we’re still waiting on the Samsung Galaxy S8 – the iPhone 8 remains the final big unknown of 2017 smartphones.
So get ready for the new iPhones with fast charging and Lightning to USB-C cables.
Those shopping for an iPhone 7 and a new plan can save hundreds with T-Mobile’s latest promotions. It also offers quick-charge 3.0 as well as USB Type C port. LG G6 comes in color options of black, platinum and white, while the iPhone 7 is offered in black, jet black, gold, rose gold and silver.
Target, the second-largest discount store retailer in the United States, has just released a company memo directing all its retail distributors to return the unsold stocks of iPhone SE to Apple.
He also claimed that the new phones might introduce “fast-charging” that would make use of that USB-C plug, but that it will be delivered through a Lightning cable. Kuo says that this will be called “Type-C power Delivery”.
