IPhone ‘Error 53’ Issue Confirmed By Apple

Users who want to fix the screens might find that, in some cases, it might actually be cheaper to upgrade to the latest iPhone – along with the credit, financing plans, and subsidies, customers could save money on an updated smartphone while Apple gets to sell its latest iPhone models.

The Error 53 issue that iPhone 6 owners who have upgraded their Touch ID sensors are seeing is not a bug, but a security feature, says Apple.

So when iOS detects this pairing failing (for example if it has been serviced by an unauthorised technician or different components added) then touch ID, including Apple Pay, is disabled to make the device secure. This way, they will be able to protect the iPhone and prevent the user from using a fake Touch ID sensor.

So it looks like Apple has extra security built into their iPhones relating to Touch ID and the fingerprint sensor, considering the fingerprint sensor is used for Apple Pay and also purchases on Apple’s online store, it is hardly surprising.

Their handsets had been working with no problem after being repaired, the Guardian reported, but as soon as they ran the new operating system they stopped responding.

Apple Inc. has told investors that it may book its first revenue decline in 13 years when it reports quarterly earnings in April due in part to weakness in the global economy.

The problem, known officially as “error 53”, leaves the device virtually useless once it has been updated to the latest version of iOS 9.

According to Slate, the later model iOS phones had special security codes that needed to be reset if the physical link between the Touch ID and the motherboard was disconnected.

Apple’s share price has come under pressure recently over concerns about iPhone sales.

In another change, Apple will start applying screen protectors for the phones inside Apple stores using a special machine.
