IPhone XS, Apple Watch Series 4, and more
It’s also poised to be the most expensive iPhone you could ever buy, but that apparently isn’t going to deter fans from gobbling up stock as soon as it hits stores.
In just two days Apple will nearly certainly reveal at least two new iPhones, along with some other hardware. The first is the nomenclature.
Have a peek at the timeline below for additional tips and bits of information on the Apple Event that’ll take place on September 12th, 2018.
Through the rest of 2018, the world’s most valuable public company will launch three new iPhones, revamped iPad Pros, Apple Watches with larger screens, a new entry-level laptop with a sharper screen, a pro-focused Mac mini desktop computer and new accessories like the AirPower wireless charger. Last year, the lowest-spec iPhone X retailed for $999 in the United States, but R20 499 here. What’s even more interesting is the fact that Apple could be taking away its 3D Touch technology on the 6.1-inch iPhone Xr, potentially replacing it with a completely software-based solution.
According to Macotakara, a publication, the budget device will be called iPhone 9, and it will come in quite a range of colors users can choose from.
Cupertino’s event from 12th of September is expected to be the day when the American tech giant will unveil the iPhone family.
To put it bluntly: That would be against everything that Apple has done in the past, and everything that would make sense for the company. Called AirPower, the pad would be able to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and its AirPods headphones at the same time, just by placing them on the mat.
On the other hand, the two OLED models used the basically-confirmed “iPhone Xs” moniker.
According to MacRumours, pricing for the devices have been leaked to be $900 (around R13 500) for the iPhone XS, $1 015 (around R15 300) for the iPhone XS Plus or Max, and $700 (around R10 500) for the iPhone XC.
In addition to Ming-Chi Kuo, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is also ready with his summary for Apple’s upcoming 2018 iPhone event. This year may be the same, though we haven’t heard much about the smaller model. The new iPhones will still use Lightning, and what’s odd about that is that Apple will continue to ship them with a 5W charger.
The event may also include Apple Watch internet-connected wrist wear getting its first significant redesign since it debuted three years ago.
