While fasting for 24 hours on Yom Kippur, many Jewish people also will visit a synagogue to pray and hear sermons. Yom Kippur services will begin at 7:15 September 22 and 10 a.m. September 23, followed by a Yizkor Memorial Service at 11:45 a.m. An abbreviated afternoon Musaf Service will begin at 1 p.m. and a concluding service will take place at 5 p.m., followed by a Yom Kippur Break Fast.
