Irvine Animal Care to hold adoption event
An alternative to puppy and kitten adoption is to take an adult pet into your home having a clear picture of what the personality actually is and having the benefit of prior history and training.
The event is hosted by the East County Animal Shelter in Alameda County.
SPARC spokesperson Nicky Gore-Jones said the shelter has been inundated with large dogs recently, many of them pit bulls that are friendly and highly adoptable.
Right now, the Aiken County Animal Shelter is full with more than 220 animals.
But Morris added potential pet owners can adopt just one.
“We do get a copy of their ID”.
Animal Control will also be doing random home checks on those adopted this weekend.
Rescued from awful living conditions, Buddy the dog was taken to Second Chance Shelter in Boaz seven years ago on St. Patrick’s Day.
There were two cases wherein they did not want to return the dog as they gelled well.
The Shelter will have around 40 dogs and 50 cats available for the event. Managers hope adoptions this weekend will lower that number dramatically.
All adoptions include the pet’s spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip – a $250 value. Clear the Shelters-themed Snapchat filters will be activated this Saturday, July 23.
KVEA will partner with Animal Friends of the Valleys along with more than 55 other animal shelters in hundreds of cities and communities throughout Southern California for its annual Clear the Shelters (Desocupar los Albergues) pet adoption campaign Saturday, July 23.
