Is Angela Lansbury Joining “Game Of Thrones” Next Season?
Washington D.C. [USA] Sept. 3: The penultimate season of Game of Thrones will see Oscar victor Jim Broadbent in its opening episode.
The 67-year-old actor has signed up for a “significant” role in the seventh series of the popular HBO series but details of his character are yet to have been revealed, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Fans are just disappointed to know that Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” shall only have seven episodes and that Season 8, which reportedly shall have only six episodes, shall be the final season for the hit TV series. There are some new minor roles that are to be filled. Just finished reading season 7.
As EW points out, Broadbent is not the first Harry Potter actor to land a role in Game of Thrones. The spoiler-averse GoT team doesn’t want to say anything yet about who the actor is playing on the series.
Ciaran Hinds was Albus Dumbledore’s brother Aberforth in the Potter series before appearing as Night’s Watch member Mance Ryder in Game of Thrones. The show is also leading the Emmy nominations with 23 prime-time Emmy awards.
The two young performers were obviously nominated for their sterling performances during Season 6 and it would not be surprising if one of them or both come out winners in their respective categories.
From Murder, She Wrote to Game of Thrones…
Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere later than usual; rather than April, it’ll instead debut sometime during the summer of 2017.
