Sports-specific viewing for TV Everywhere is up 80 per cent year over year, and, in 2015, more than one in three online video starts for special sporting events, such as the Super Bowl, were on mobile devices. Kickoff doesn’t start until 3:30pm, so you have plenty of time to smoke off those hangovers and get the chili cooking before that first snap goes flying by Peyton Manning’s head.
For Super Bowl 50, however, those who have cut the cord have a number of legal options for watching the big game online.

According to the National Retail Federation, people between ages 25 to 34 will spend the most on the Super Bowl this year. “Super Bowl 50 will be a tipping point for the advertising industry”. There’s also a pay option available on Sky Sports for their subscribers.
To our Canadian friends: The game will be broadcasted on CTV and will also be available on the CTV Go app. For those outside the US, you may need the NFL Game Pass to watch, which is $99/year (though they offer a 7-day trial period which might work if you haven’t used it already).
Fortunately, it’s what the veteran broadcaster calls a “personal home game”. For sports specifically, Millennials are 30 per cent less likely to watch a live sporting event on traditional TV. Why be chained to the couch when you can stream the game to your smartphone or tablet? Viewers can download either the CBS Sports App or NFL App on an Apple TV, Xbox One, Fire TV, Roku, or Chromecast and stream the game for free, even if you don’t have a cable subscription.
Only eligible Verizon Wireless customers via the NFL Mobile App will be able to access the live stream on mobile devices. If you’re on another carrier, your best bet is probably a less-than-official Periscope stream.
