Researchers believe Li-FI will be “ready for commercial use by the end of the decade”.
Li-Fi, or light fidelity, was coined by pureLiFi co-founder and Chief Science Officer Harald Haas, a professor at the University of Edinburgh, and was promoted during a TED talk he gave back in 2011.
