Is Moon Knight Coming To Netflix?
In a recent interview with Collider, Heroic Hollywood’s El Mayimbe spills the beans that Marvel is contemplating bringing Moon Knight to Netflix. And if Moon Knight joins them, you heard it from Gonzalez first.
Marc Spector, AKA Moon Knight, has been referred to as “Marvel’s Batman” (though really, it’s not a fair comparison), and the mix of fantasy/mythology, vigilante action and horror elements would certainly be something we haven’t seen from the studio before.
Now Daredevil’s second season is currently under production, and it will continue to, along with Jessica Jones, introduce more familiar faces from the Marvel universe such as Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Elektra (Elodie Yung) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter), the latter of which is getting his own series, premiering at a few point next year. Like the way they’re backdoor piloting Punisher, making an appearance in Daredevil Season 2, if it works out, boom. During Moon Knight’s major relaunch back in 2006, critics decried similarities between the respective Marvel and DC heroes, citing their wealthy present-day backgrounds and penchant for dusky vigilantism.
Quick recap: Bruce Wayne is the billionaire playboy/philanthropist who watched his parents murdered when he was a child. Still, it’s hard to argue that he wouldn’t fit right into Netflix’s darker take on the MCU. The Inhumans film for 2019 is rumored to have been cancelled, as is the Iron Fist series on Netflix.
