Is One Direction Taking a Break?
Despite the news that One Direction are set to call time on their boyband days after finishing off existing business commitments, Simon is said to be determined to push their final album. “We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year”, he tweeted Monday.
The “extended hiatus” is expected to begin in March 2016, and the members will be working on their own solo projects, said E!.
A rep for the band told us: “No discussions about solo deals are happening with any members of One Direction now”.
Simon Cowell had been hinting the end was nigh after Zayn Malik left the group in March, breaking a million young hearts. News. “They will remain together and plan to work together in the future”, the source added. A lot can happen in a year (Zayn’s defection has proven that!), including Liam becoming a father, greater success in their respective solo careers, if one or more of them get the acting bug, girlfriends and hey, even a new American president (theycould care!).
But while it’s rumoured the boys will be focusing on solo material, they’ve put their loyal fans’ minds at rest and confirmed none of the singers are in any talks to branch off on their own yet. “They might take a year off and miss it. They might take a year off and say, “You know what?”

However, The Sun claimed that the breakup by One Direction is not going to be permanent.
“I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight”.
