IS Posts Photo Of ‘Bomb That Downed Plane’
A photo of the alleged bomb was featured in ISIS’ official magazine Dabiq, with a message, “Exclusive – Image of the IED [improvised explosive device] used to bring down the Russian airliner”. Since then, ISIS published images of the bomb that was detonated inside the airplane, saying that the Russian flight wasn’t the original target. “Its operation has led to the destruction of the frame and depressurization of the cabin, which had an explosive character”, the newspaper said.
Clive Williams, a professor at the Australian National University’s Centre for Military and Security Law and a member of the worldwide Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators, said the use of a soda can raised questions about whether the device was included in the catering supply. However, according to the Russian government’s list of the passengers, the nationalities of three are unknown. All 224 people on board lost their lives.
Putin said on Tuesday that Moscow would increase its airstrikes against Daesh in Syria in response to the plane crash. Reuters reported that two airport employees were arrested on Monday under suspicion of helping the terrorists plant the bomb.
Egyptian authorities confirmed two workers at Sharm El-Sheikh airport are accused of aiding those responsible for the atrocity.
The soda can pictured in the magazine photo appears to be of the regular 12-ounce variety, casting doubts on the IS claims that it was the type of bomb that brought down the plane. “This would be within the competency of Islamic State”, he said.
The Norwegian foreign ministry declined to comment on the claim.
She said Norway did not intend to pay a ransom for his release.
“It doesn’t take much to bring down a plane in flight if it’s placed in the most critical area of the aircraft, breaking the fuselage” said May, a retired explosives enforcement officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. “There is obviously a catch, which is Moscow still is interested in keeping Assad in power; we do not believe that we can arrive at a political settlement so long as he remains president”.
“Ever since the Chinese citizen was held hostage by the Islamic State group, the Chinese government has been sparing no effort in rescuing him”, ministry spokesman Hong Lei said in a statement, according to the AP.
In its latest issue, it did not give any details about how, when or where they were killed.
Since the attacks on Paris, both Russian Federation and France have stepped up the tempo of air strikes.
“Russia is shifting because today Russian cruise missiles hit Raqqa”.
