Isaiah McKenzie’s two scores helps Georgia defeat Auburn 20-13

Defense has often been the problem for the Tigers under Gus Malzahn, but the Tigers’ season-long issues on offense have derailed high expectations, as now Auburn needs to beat Idaho next week just to get to six wins. Davis fell on it at Auburn’s 17 and Marshall Morgan made it a two-score game with a 38-yard field goal after the offense went backward. I didn’t know if I (knocked loose) the ball or not, but I got up and I heard people cheering and then I saw everybody pointing that way. Offense: C Perhaps this grade is best than it deserves ’cause Georgia won. Georgia’s rushing attack had a tough time and only totaled 146 yards on the ground. As a team, Auburn averaged 2.2 pass yards per attempt.

Georgia coach Mark Richt considers Johnson the bigger running threat of the two Auburn quarterbacks, though he didn’t have a carry against Texas A&M.

White later said Georgia did a great job disguising coverages and changing looks at the last moment before the snap. Peyton Barber gained 72 yards on 13 carries. Sean White’s cameo appearance didn’t go well either with the redshirt freshman finishing 1 of 5 for 1 yard.

Auburn is 3-8 against teams with winning records, 8-22 after allowing less than 20 points, 3-11 overall and on grass, 1-4 after an ATS win, after rushing for 200 yards or more, 1-5 after a straight up win, 1-7 at home, and 0-6 after allowing less than 170 passing yards.

White didn’t practice the week before the Texas A&M game, but got in enough practice time heading into Georgia to show he could play.

Georgia sophomore RB Sony Michel was held by Auburn to 77 yards on 26 carries in Saturday’s 20-13 win.
