ISIS video threatens Times Square
A new video produced by the Islamic State’s (ISIS) media Furaat Media Center threatens an attack on NY City. He says people should continue to live their lives and “enjoy the greatest city in the world”.
The video, which runs for almost six minutes, includes a scene that appears to show a suicide bomber making preparations and zipping up a leather jacket, according to a description provided by SITE Intelligence Group, a Bethesda, Maryland, organization that tracks jihadist groups and white supremacists. In response, French president Francois Hollande declared war on ISIS, using French warplanes to strike ISIS positions in Raqqa, Syria on Saturday.
Several jihadis also appear in the video and celebrate the tragic events that occurred in Paris, thanking the “soldiers of the caliphate in France” for their “blessed operation”. Screen capture from ISIS’ video.
A man is then seen strapping the bomb underneath his clothing.
“There is no specific credible threat against NY City”.
In a second video released by the terror group, ISIS threatened NY City with suicide bombings just as the Thanksgiving holiday season approaches. The footage shows terrorists readying for attacks with tape and grenades as footage of NY City landmarks flash by. “But it’s certainly threatening”.
In a statement, NYPD Deputy Commissioner Stephen Davis said although “there is no current or specific threat to the City at this time, we will remain at a heightened state of vigilance”.
