Israel Indicts Two Jewish Terrorists Over Palestinian Arson Attack
The Israeli soldier is said to have been seriously injured.

The arson attack followed days of tensions over West Bank settlements, with rightwing groups opposing the demolition of two buildings under construction that the Israeli High Court said were illegal. Most of the others have been killed in clashes with security forces. Two other Israelis, including a minor, were charged for implication in “other terrorist acts”. According to the indictment, he made a decision to commit the arson in retaliation for the July murder of Malachai Rosenfeld, not far from Duma. But his grandparents, whom AFP met at home next to their son’s torched house in Duma, said they did not believe in “unfair Israeli justice”.
The extremists are part of the so-called “hilltop youth”, a leaderless group of young people who set up unauthorised outposts, usually clusters of trailers, on West Bank hilltops – land the Palestinians claim for their hoped-for state. The attacker had attempted to stab police on Haim Bar-Lev Street in Jerusalem near the Old City and then tried to run away.

Israeli forces or armed civilians have killed at least 132 Palestinians 82 of whom authorities described as assailants.
The society said that Israeli forces detained 17-year-old Ibrahim Safi Sawfta from Tubas district, and three men in Jenin identified as Ishaq Abd al-Rahman Jarbou, 22, Nuriddin Muhammad al-Sadi, 20, and Mahmoud Muhammad Awartani, 33.
