Israeli air raid in Gaza Strip kills one, wounds three

Israeli media reported that its force targeted a Palestinian “terrorist cell” where terrorist were planting explosives on border fence.
Wallstrom was responding to a question in parliament by an opposition member on the controversy raised in December by her statement on the need for Israel to avoid “extrajudicial executions”.
The Israeli army announced the area a closed military zone after the attack and warned its citizens to stay away. The IDF said the action was a joint operation of the Air Force and the Shin Bet security service, which gathered intelligence on the imminent attack. The blockade, which has cut off the territory from the outside world, has led to an economic and humanitarian crisis in the densely-populated enclave. Over 11,100 others – including 3,374 children, 2,088 women and 410 elderly people – were also injured. One of the terrorists was killed and two were injured, one very seriously.
Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza fought a seven-week war in 2014.
The Gaza Strip has remained largely calm, though violent protests have broken out along the heavily guarded border and a number of Palestinians have been killed during clashes with Israeli forces.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Gaza-based al-Rai news agency that three of the convicted had fled the Gaza Strip several years ago, while the fourth one is still in Gaza.
