Israeli Arabs removed from Athens-Tel Aviv flight
Three Palestinian men were killed after attempting to stab soldiers at a West Bank intersection. Another attack, also on Thursday night, took place against soldiers at a checkpoint near Hebron.
According to Israeli daily the Jerusalem Post, Israeli passengers demanded that the cabin crew call the police and search the two Palestinians.
Israeli forces shot dead four Palestinian attackers after they tried to stab Israeli soldiers in two separate incidents in the occupied West Bank, worldwide media report. The soldiers shot and killed three assailants and severely injured another one.
The Palestinian health ministry said that the three Palestinians were cousins from the town of Sa’eer near Hebron.
At least 139 Palestinians, 23 Israelis and a USA citizen have died due to the continuing violence between Palestinians and Israelis since the beginning of October 2015.
“The force thwarted the attack, responding to the imminent threat danger and shooting the perpetrators resulting in death of two”, the Israeli military told CNN.
An earlier statement said: ‘Three attackers, armed with knives, attempted to stab soldiers guarding the Gush Etzion junction’.
Israeli security forces are still hunting for the suspect in the attack, Nashat Milhem.
The recent violence was sparked by successive incursions by hardline Israeli groups into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the third holiest site in Islam.
A Palestinian official criticized on Wednesday the treatment of two Arab passengers who disembarked from an Israel-bound flight after other travelers complained of security concerns.
Greece on Thursday said it condemned all forms of discrimination after Palestinian leaders complained at the removal of two Arab passengers from an Israel-bound flight.
