Israeli citizens held in Gaza
On Wednesday, during a rally in Gaza, Hamas leader Khaled Meshal alluded to Mengistu’s capture when speaking about Israelis now being held by the terror group, including the bodies of two IDF soldiers who were killed during last summer’s war.
JERUSALEM Israel arrested Hamas on Tuesday of using last week’s strikes by Islamic State associates on Egyptian powers inside the Sinai in wish of releasing arms smuggling to the Gaza Strip.

Secret negotiations have been ongoing to secure Mengistu’s release, as well as the bodies of soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul, Israeli officials confirmed.

Wearing an Avraham Mengistu shirt, Yalo said that he and others in the community have known about the story for months and that “no one has given any answers to the family”.
Hamas and other militant groups launched thousands of rockets and mortar bombs out of the enclave into Israel. The family was told earlier on that they should keep the situation quiet, he said.
