Israeli officers gun down Palestinian
During his weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the Palestinian Authority for the attacks which, he said, “encourages and encites” them, according to the Al Jazeera news organization. One soldier signaled for the man to come forward, a soldier was on the edge of the road and he tried to move backward when he slipped. Police officers spokeswoman Luba Samri stated in that on Saturday, officers had approached a human being they viewed as suspicious.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the two Palestinians were relatives, one aged 17 and the other, 23.
A Palestinian witness at the scene, however, countered that the driver was shot by mistake.
On Friday, Israeli border guards shot dead a Palestinian woman who tried to ram a vehicle into them in the West Bank, shortly after a Palestinian was killed in clashes with Israeli forces near the border with the Gaza Strip.
In another attack, earlier in the day, police said a soldier was stabbed and lightly wounded in Jerusalem by a 30-year-old attacker.
Last week, the forces shot and killed a 15-year-old from the Nablus-area village of Beit Furik after he reportedly drew a knife on soldiers at the checkpoint.
The incident was the second attack on Sunday, and followed a stabbing of an Israeli soldier at a bus stop in Jerusalem, where the attacker was detained.
The incident was captured on security camera footage.
Israel blames the Palestinian attacks on incitement.
Palestinian leaders say a younger generation sees no hope for the future living under Israeli security restrictions and with a stifled economy.
The latest round of US-brokered peace talks collapsed in April 2014. At least 129 Palestinians have died in the same period, of whom 89 Israel says were attacking or attempting to attack Israelis.
