Israeli reservist stabbed in West Bank, assailant killed
The attacker was identified as a 21-year-old Palestinian from the Bethlehem area. A second Jewish defendant whose name was withheld due to his age was charged as an accessory.

Israel claims home demolitions such as Monday’s operation are an effective tool to deter attacks.
Amjad Abu Asab, who heads an East Jerusalem committee for prisoners’ families, said that both children were detained last Wednesday and were “interrogated in the absence of adult family members and lawyers, which is a serious violation of Israeli law and worldwide law”.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said the victim was a 34-year-old man with light wounds to his face and arms. “We know there’s no significant external evidence linking the suspects to this incident”.
While Israel alleges many of those were attempting to attack Israelis when they were shot, Palestinians and rights groups have disputed Israel’s version of events in a number of cases.
Saad’s brother Naser was unconvinced by Israel’s commitment to the prosecution.
“We have no trust in the Israeli judiciary”.
Twenty-two Israelis, an American and an Eritrean have been killed in Palestinian attacks including stabbings, auto rammings and gunfire targeting security forces and civilians since October 1. The gunman an Israeli Arab is at large.
At the same time, according to an AFP count, 138 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces, most while carrying out attacks.
Israel says the violence is being fanned by a Palestinian campaign of incitement, while the Palestinians respond by saying it is rooted in frustrations stemming from decades of Israeli occupation.
In the latest violence, two Israeli soldiers, one a woman, were wounded on Sunday in separate shootings in the flashpoint West Bank city of Hebron, the army said. The soldiers shot at the assailant, killing him on the spot.
