Israeli Troops Raid Hospital In West Bank, Kill Palestinian Man
At around 2:45, five agents, including two disguised as women, raided a patient’s room.
About two minutes later, they were seen pushing a man in a wheelchair, presumably the suspect, back down the hallway.
“They headed straight towards the surgery ward, where Azzam al-Shalaldeh was being treated”, Dr Shawar told Al Jazeera.
“This is an outright crime”, said Jihad Shawar, director of the Al-Ahli Hospital.
Israeli authorities say 50 of the Palestinian fatalities were involved in attacks on Israelis but Palestinians dispute this.
In the Gaza Strip, Palestinians confronted IDF troops near the coastal plain’s northern and southern borders with Israel.
More than 100 Palestinians, including 49 children, were wounded. These deaths brought to 13 the number of Israelis killed since the start of October.
Two Palestinians shot dead by Israeli forces as two Israeli settlers are killed in alleged Palestinian shooting attack. Video of the aftermath of the incident shows Mahdi al-Muhtasib writhing in pain on the ground before an Israeli soldier, standing a distance of some metres away, shoots him again. Lafi Yusif Awad was fatally injured with gunfire to the abdomen, in the Ramallah-area village of Budrus.
Meanwhile, a Hebron hospital said a Palestinian was shot and killed in clashes with Israeli security forces near the city on Friday. Israeli forces met dozens of stone-throwing Palestinians marking the anniversary with tear gas. Human rights groups have called the practice collective punishment.
Israeli paramedics Magen David Adom (MDA) initially identified the victims as a man and a woman, both in their 50s. A person in a wheelchair suddenly stood up and joined the armed security men walking down the hall.
The Israeli Army said the raid was carried out to detain Azzam al- Shalalda, 22, over a knife attack on an Israeli settler two weeks ago in the West Bank. The organization also requested that Israel allow Shalaldah to continue his mental health treatment through the organization.
Hebron is the epicenter of tension in the current wave of violence between the Palestinians and Israelis that is ongoing for the second month.
“(The demolitions) are immoral, it is collective punishment and they will ignite the West Bank”, she said.
“The man is in a hospital, he’s not planning to attack soldiers”, said Mr Al Sharif. This had erupted during a funeral for another Palestinian who had died of wounds overnight following clashes at a funeral on Thursday, Palestinian medics said. He escaped by auto after the shooting.
In a statement published on Thursday, Amnesty International denounced Israeli soldiers use of lethal force against suspected Palestinian attackers.
