Israeli Woman Stabbed to Death and Three Palestinians Killed in West Bank

Also on Monday, the Israeli army prohibited Palestinians from entering 24 illegal Jewish settlements after an Israeli woman was stabbed to death at a road junction in the area on Sunday. Daash had reportedly arrived at the Route 443 gas station with the intent to carry out a stabbing attack.
CCTV footage showed one of the suspected attackers lunging at a man before being shot by police.
A witness, Akram Ezyy, said the attackers looked like were “about 12”.
Eighteen Israelis have been killed, a lot of them in stabbing attacks, while 88 Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli security forces, either in response to alleged attacks, or during demonstrations or clashes. It said an 18-year-old Palestinian woman was critically wounded in the incident, but had no further details.
Palestinians have accused Israeli security forces of using undue and indiscriminate force, while Israel has said it has a right to respond to potentially deadly attacks by shooting to kill. In the afternoon, a Palestinian assailant attempted to stab an Israeli soldier near Nablus in the West Bank, the IDF said.
“An officer who observed the event approached, fired accurately and neutralized the terrorists”, she added. Twenty Israelis and an American student have been killed by Palestinians, either in stabbings, shootings or purposefully run down by vehicles.
The attack was the latest in a two-month spate of Israeli-Palestinian violence that erupted in Jerusalem in mid-September and quickly spread across Israel and into the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced new security measures in the West Bank including segregating roads and withdrawing work permits to the families of attackers.
According to the university’s public relations department, tension has been running high at the campus due to Israeli forces’ continuous attempts to take over part of the campus’ land for the benefit of expanding a nearby Israeli military training base.
