It’s Not Too Late To Get Your Flu Shot
“This flu season has been later in coming and some vaccine supplies took longer to arrive, so consequently, we have a supply of flu vaccine available and want to use it to protect vulnerable people in Tennessee, both those who can be vaccinated and especially those that can’t”, said Tennessee Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH.
Last week, the CDC’s surveillance indicated flu activity is still “minimal” in Tennessee but showed numbers increasing elsewhere. According to medics, 28459 people came down with the flu during the period from January 31 to February 6, 2016.

The PHA said said at the end of last month that there had been an increase in the level of influenza in the region.
“More fruits and veggies can reinforce your immunities and might help you recover faster if you do get infected”, Yoakum said. Those people should see a health provider immediately if they experience flu-like symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, runny nose, tiredness, diarrhea and vomiting. Those at higher risk for serious influenza infections are persons over the age of 65, children ages 2 and younger, pregnant women and people with chronic illnesses, respiratory problems such as asthma or people with a weakened immune system. The highest flu and cold rate is observed in Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv, where the sickness rates stand at 14.1% and 11.9%, respectively.
