Italia Ricci Cast as Supergirl Villain Silver Banshee!

In the DC comic books, Silver Banshee originated as a foe for Superman and eventually takes over the body of Supergirl’s best friend.

The ABC Family actress will play the part of Siobhan Smythe, known to DC comic book readers as the supervillain Silver Banshee.

Deadline reports that Chasing Life vet Italia Ricci has been cast in a recurring role as Siobhan Smythe on CBS’ Supergirl. Warner Bros. announced on Friday that Ricci will be joining the show in Episode 14 for a multiple-episode arc.

“We are so excited to be working with Italia”, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said.

In addition to her series-regular role as April in Chasing Life, Ricci’s past TV credits include Greek, Secret Girlfriend, Unnatural History, and CSI.

Interestingly, Ricci is also romantically linked to the CW’s one-time Firestorm, actor Robbie Amell. The character will make her debut as a “work nemesis” for Kara at CatCo but will soon start bothering the girl of steel in the streets of National City too.

“Supergirl” season 1, episode 7, titled “Human for a Day”, airs on Monday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
