Italian Heiress Beatrice Borromeo Marries In Pink Valentino
Unlike royal events elsewhere in Europe, the wedding of Monaco’s Pierre Casiraghi and Italian heiress Beatrice Borromeo was decidedly low-key; the two were married by the tiny principality’s justice minister Philippe Narmino – roughly the equivalent of getting married at the country courthouse in the U.S.
Then the bridal party moved to the luxurious and historic Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo for an intimate reception and royal dinner.
Following the ceremony, Prince Albert of Monaco (Casiraghi’s uncle) hosted a short, carnival-themed party for 500 well-wishers in the palace gardens. Her second gown of the day was another Valentino number; this time a backless gown with delicate silver embroidery.
The new couple, who were officially united in the civil ceremony on Saturday, will now travel to Isola Bella – a Borromeon island named after her sister, Isabella, which lies near the border with Swizerland – where a religious ceremony solemnizing the marriage will take place.
