Itasca Co. Deputy Shoots, Kills Man
Adam Russell Schneider, 31, of Cohasset died of gunshot wounds, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office.
Itasca County Sheriff Vic Williams reported in a news release that deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 400 block of Second Street N.W.in Cohasset at 2:49 a.m. Saturday.
KDLH-TV stories (http://bit.ly/1MKNFKg ) when deputies arrived they have been confronted by a person with a gun.
The man was shot after deputies say he threatened them. The name of the deceased and of the Sheriff’s Deputy will be released at a later time.
The man was transported to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, where he died. He is on standard administrative leave.
According to a report issued by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Schneider ignored repeated orders to drop his gun, and when he pointed it at deputies, Sheriff’s Deputy Snyder fired. When its investigation is complete, the BCA will present its findings to the Itasca County Attorney’s Office for review.
