Ivanka Trump Calls Father ‘People’s Champion’

The biggest speakers were venture capitalist Peter Thiel, Ivanka Trump, and the man of the hour himself, Donald Trump.

Married to multi-millionaire real estate developer and publisher Jared Kushner, for whom she converted to Judaism, the couple are fixtures on the society circuit but also known to like the quiet life at home. He said all of Donald Trump’s children showed an “immaculate” style at the convention.

Her remarks were a highlight in a convention marked at times by party mutiny and chaos.

He was the single-most qualified person to lead the economy, and would “call on the best and brightest, both sides of the aisle”, she said.

“That is where she comes from and talks from”, Dowd said. She spoke about how her father’s companies support equal pay for women and other important issues, seemingly swaying voters who had turned their cheek to her father.

The were more than a few inconsistencies between the man Ivanka described on stage and the man who is now running for president.

“The only negative reviews were, ‘a little dark, ‘ ” Trump said of the speech in his Meet The Press, but he added that the world is in fact risky and he cited recent attacks in Munich and Afghanistan. The mother of three small children also promised that her father would make a special effort to help working mothers. The post-convention bounce gives the media a horse race to hype, but the reality is that the next will chance to shift the polls won’t come until the first presidential debate.

Ivanka Trump: “As president, my father will change the labor laws… and he will focus on making quality childcare affordable and accessible for all”. And while the campaign promises she made are thoughtful and inspiring, it’s hard to believe that her father will carry them out.
