Ivanka Trump cuts off Cosmo interview after tough questioning
It started with an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, penned by herself, where she spoke of motherhood being the greatest “predictor of wage inequality in our country”. “I’m going to jump off”, she said.
Father knows best in the Trump clan.
A second, related, problem: It reinforces to his critics that Trump is simply pandering to female voters, and not listening to what would actually help them achieve equality in the workplace.

Ivanka Trump: So it’s meant to benefit, whether it’s in same-sex marriages as well, to benefit the mother who has given birth to the child if they have legal married status under the tax code. Under a mildly challenging line of questioning, Ivanka lost her patience and hung up.
An investigation on the topic that Huffington Post engaged in involved assessing the human resources handbooks of the Trump Organization at multiple locations, and talking to Trump employees. Gupta then tried to stump Ivanka with a question on why Ivanka’s policies applied only to “mothers”, and whether she’d be willing to extend maternity leave benefits to gay men.
Perhaps Trump’s remark would not come off as so unusual if not for his history. Low-wage workers, who often spend a disproportionately large share of the income on child care, pay little or no income tax. “I apologize”, Trump said.
No such luck. First question: “Why did the Trump campaign wait so long to release this policy?”
Gupta returned to the plan for one more question, asking about Donald’s strategy to finance maternity leave and child care initiatives nationwide. Once a mother has returned to work, the costs of childcare are becoming tougher and tougher to bear.
Between this, getting caught lying about Hillary Clinton’s childcare policies, and getting caught lying about her own family’s hotels, it seems Trump’s favorite child might get some of his crazy-dust on her, after all. The time is not exclusive to new parents, and is also being offered to parents of sick children, or family members that take time off to help care for elderly parents or family members.
“These new accounts are available to everyone, and allow both tax-deductible contributions and tax-free appreciation year-to-year – unlike current law Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), which are available only if it is offered by an employer and does not allow balances to accumulate”, the plan states.
If you do manage to find Cosmo’s politics section (buried under the conflicting editorial priorities of “women’s empowerment” and “sex tips created to please your man”), you’ll find a host of vapid articles defending Hillary Clinton, including a swoony essay on the Clintons’ marriage. Her work has also appeared in Ms. Magazine. She also spoken passionately about the issue during her Republican National Convention address.
