Ivanka Trump markets her look after RNC speech

Ivanka Trump vowed that her father would “focus on making affordable childcare affordable and accessible for all” if elected. The address was clearly an attempt to build bridges for her father with women, and to a lesser extent minorities – two groups the GOP nominee has struggled to win over.

Trump’s past statements on women in the workplace have included calling pregnancy “an inconvenience” and telling a voter in New Hampshire a year ago that women will receive the same pay as men “if they do as good a job”.

“Ivanka was incredible last night”, Donald Trump said at a press conference on Friday morning.

“Like many of my fellow Millennials, I do not consider myself categorically Democratic or Republican”, she said. It may not have been the chicest choice – the bold red outfit she sported earlier in the day made more of an impact – but it was a smart one.

“Women are paid equally and when a woman becomes a mother she is supported, not shut out”, she said of life at The Trump Organization where she is a vice president of acquisitions and development. In his speech, Trump attacked Hillary Clinton for her foreign policy views and called her a “puppet” of special interests.

It seems like it was a missed business opportunity for Trump. “He would talk to them and draw upon his extensive network, find them a job, and give them a break”.
