Ivanka: Trump Will Fight for Equal Pay for Equal Work

Ivanka Trump used her prime speaking slot on the final night of the Republican convention to stake out equal pay and affordable child care as key issues for her father, Donald Trump, now that he has secured the party’s nomination for president.

The video described the elder Trump’s journey to develop New York City in the late 1970s and 1980s with his father after the city had faced decades of decay. The 34-year-old is technically a member of Generation X, but regardless, her speech was well received by Twitter users who praised the very progressive stance she presented her father’s Republican platform. Her smart attire was from the Ivanka Trump collection, priced at a modest $138.

Trump said her father is a champion for women who choose career and motherhood.

He was preceded by a speech from his daughter, Ivanka, who tried humanize her father, saying, “he is color blind and gender neutral”.

And while her brothers seem to align more closely with their father’s ideology, regularly re-tweeting supportive quotes and touting the same anti-immigrant, pro-isn’t-America-great rhetoric, Ivanka neatly steps aside.

While her father is known for his nearly hypnotic ramblings, Ivanka, the former best friend of Hillary Clinton’s daughter, is collected, focused and articulate.

As for Donald’s role in his company, “he is more of a figure head while Ivanka already does much of the actual day to day work running the family businesses”.

“She is showing the softer side” of Trump, said Chris Herrod, state director for Ted Cruz in Utah. She stressed his commitment to working moms and to childcare programs and to equal pay, topics that he himself rarely if ever hits on the trail.

Her speech caps a week of speeches from the Trump family – Melania Trump on Monday, Tiffany and Donald Trump, Jr. on Tuesday and Eric Trump on Wednesday.

Wisconsin delegate Kathy Kiernan called Ivanka’s speech “perfect”.

The dress, it turns out, was from her eponymous clothing line – and she made sure shoppers knew how and where to purchase it when it goes on sale.

The daughter and Trump executive, who walked on stage just 10 days after giving birth to her third child to introduce her father at a NY rally, is nearly like the Queen – she has never missed a step. “He hires the best person for the job, period”, she said. “Throughout my entire life, I have witnessed his empathy toward others”, Trump said.

Earlier in the week, the businesswoman was seen sporting a floral skirt with a full-sleeved blue top, as she greeted her father along with her husband Jared Kushner. “It’s a powerful combination”, Steel said. You can not drop words like “equal pay” for the first time in the 2016 election cycle and think women are going to applaud, look pretty, and say “Thank you”.
