Jack Black, Morgan Freeman urge Americans to support Iran deal
(Not nuclear technology, mind you, but nuclear weapons.) They’ve gathered together Queen Nor of Jordan, actors Jack Black, Natasha Lyonne, and Farshad Farahat, retired U.S. Ambassador Thomas Pickering, and the first African-American President of the United States, Morgan Freeman. However, the video does encourage viewers to call their representatives and urge them to support the Iran Deal.
Morgan Freeman cautions that in that case, the U.S. could be forced into war with Iran – “another risky, drawn out and expensive conflict in the Middle East with many lives lost”.
Iran and world powers reached a nuclear agreement earlier this month, but actually getting it set into motion hinges on a Congressional vote this September. “Because playing politics with our national security isn’t all that amusing”, adds a hirsute Jack Black, who concludes the video with a tongue-in-cheek homage to Sting’s Cold War era hit “Russians”.
President Barack Obama has always enjoyed robust support from Hollywood heavyweights, and now some of his celebrity backers are coming out in favor of his historic nuclear nuclear deal with Iran.
