Jack Collison says Pellegrini has shown how far West Ham have come
Sergio Aguero snatched a 2-2 draw at West Ham for Manchester City but visiting goalkeeper Joe Hart felt victory would have been undeserved.
Writing in his column for the London Evening Standard, Hammers boss Bilic said: “Basically it appears now that it’s a three-way race between our opponents tomorrow, plus Arsenal and Leicester City”. Out of the top three teams, Manchester City have the worst road record out of them all. It’s totally logically because this kind of popularity and money that all the teams have gives the smaller teams opportunity to close the gap.
Manchester City’s injury toll is up to five players. The headlines in that game belonged to Sergio Aguero, who after months of injury woes, looked to be back to his brilliant best with two goals.
Momentarily there was confusion if the goal counted but it was a relief to Manuel Pellegrini and the entire Manchester City supporters as the score read 2-2.
Bilic said: “You have a minimum of four clubs before the season who can say their aim is to win the league”. “He always when he comes back from an injury he needs two or three games to return to his best performance”.
We just hope Hart sees the amusing side.
West Ham remained sixth, six points behind Tottenham, which occupies the fourth Champions League place.
“We always try to play with creative and attacking players”.
Yet despite having been gifted a route back into the game, City’s galaxy of stars were still being outshone by West Ham’s Dimitri Payet.
Aguero has spent several stints on the sidelines since joining City from Atletico Madrid for EUR45million in 2011. I just don’t think they understand. His 53 chances created leads the team by a large margin, with the second most being Aaron Cresswell with 26. I was not happy the way we conceded the second goal. We have done it this season – and with the greatest respect to them as I really believe they are the best side in England – we are playing at home. We try to make a lot of mistakes, after that they are not thinking about the referee in official games, ‘ revealed Pellegrini.
Aleksandar Kolarov has been ruled out after coming off in the Palace match with a calf problem, joining fellow defenders Eliaquim Mangala (hamstring) and Vincent Kompany (calf), plus midfielder Samir Nasri (hamstring) and striker Wilfried Bony (calf), on the sidelines.
