Jack Grealish training with Aston Villa’s reserves
Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson suggested on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News headquarters on Saturday afternoon (November 21) that Aston Villa manager Remi Garde should make more use of Jack Grealish.
And Garde has warned Grealish he will have to earn a first team recall after being caught on camera in a Manchester nightclub with friends hours after the 4-0 defeat at Everton and then at a party at a Birmingham hotel on Sunday.
It is understood the youngster has not been fined this time but he has been training with Villa’s U21s since Monday.
It is the latest uncomfortable experience for the academy product, who was pictured apparently passed out on the street while on holiday in Tenerife in the summer.
Garde, whose side sit bottom of the Premier League, must now decide whether he can afford to further punish Grealish by leaving him out of his squad for this weekend’s crucial game against Watford. He was fined for that.
Earlier this year a tabloid newspaper published a picture of him allegedly inhaling nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, from a balloon.
The midfielder emerged as one of the English game’s brightest prospects last season and starred in Villa’s FA Cup semi-final win against Liverpool at Wembley.
Garde, who replaced Tim Sherwood as manager last month, has recently spoken of Grealish’s underwhelming form.
