Jack Green given go-ahead for 400m hurdles at World Athletics Championships
Martyn Rooney will run in the 400 metres for Great Britain at the world championships this month after successfully appealing against his original non-selection.
On Monday, reigning European champion Martyn Rooney was added to the men’s 400m event after a successful appeal.
The former Brockhill School and Saltwood Primary pupil said: “I am pleased my appeal to be included in the individual event was successful”.
‘I’m now looking forward to putting on the GB vest once again and just want to focus on producing the best possible performance I can.’.
That was followed by a seventh place finish at the Anniversary Games before he took third at Stockholm’s Diamond League last week.
The 28-year-old had initially been selected as part of Great Britain’s 400m relay squad to travel to Beijing.
Last week, steeplechaser Lennie Waite and 10,000m runner Andy Vernon lost similar appeals over their omission from the GB squad.
