Jack Wilshere: Another injury
The 23-year-old missed Arsenal’s Community Shield triumph over Chelsea last weekend. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said at the time that Wilshere would only be out for “a matter of days”, but that optimistic view seems to be premature.
However, ESPN reported on Tuesday that the injury was worse than first thought and Wilshere had already been ruled out of our opening two Premier League fixtures against West Ham and Crystal Palace while further scans were carried out.
The midfielder will undergo scans and the full extent of the injury will be revealed as the results are set to be out on Friday.
Just as Arsenal fans started to believe that nothing could go wrong for their club ahead of the new season, the Daily Mail reports that midfield ace Jack Wilshire could face a lengthy period on the sidelines due to injury.
He suffered an ankle injury last season in a game against Manchester United in November and spent over three months out of the side as he recovered slowly.
Wilshere has managed to start in just 48 Premier League matches over the last four seasons, with this latest setback adding to a long list of injuries that have afflicted the Arsenal No. 10.
The news will come as a blow to Arsene Wenger but it’s getting to a point where you have to start worrying about Wilshere’s career as he simply cannot stay fit.
