Jackie Collins waited how long to get breast lump checked?
Collins, who lost the fight against breast cancer yesterday at 77, was known for her controversial books about sex and relationships.
Collins passes away on September 19, 2015, after her six-year battle with breast cancer.
People Magazine recently published an exclusive interview with the 77-year-old author that was conducted just before she passed.
“I thought, ‘I’m not dealing with this, ‘ because in my mind I decided it was benign”.
The novelist added that “I have a chronic disease”.
Jackie was diagnosed after having a full body scan for an unexplained limp but by the time she found out, her cancer had spread. “So I happily, happily went day by day”.
Whilst Jackie was concerned about Rory, she refused to feel sorry for herself.
While that was her decision, the star spoke out in an attempt to convince other women not to follow in her footsteps.
Her best-selling novels, mostly depicting the lives of women in Hollywood, have been sold in 40 countries throughout the world and spawned controversy.
Jackie Collins, whose steamy novels sold more than 500 million copies, has died following a six-year battle with breast cancer that she never divulged to the public.
Jackie – whose actress sister Joan, 82, only discovered her sibling was ill a fortnight before she died – also blasted female pop stars including Miley Cyrus for wearing too little and showing “too much bum”.
Jackie explained: “I would really have affected her. I just felt she didn’t need it in her life”. She’s very positive and very social, but I’m not sure how strong she is, so I didn’t want to burden her.
