Jackson to spend more time around Knicks at Fisher’s request
Given that the offense is a more complicated system than just running a general spread pick-and-roll, it figures that someone who’s acting as a head coach for the first time in his life might have a little trouble explaining it to players who haven’t run it before.
Thus, the named news broadcast is heated in benefits: according to Ian Begley of They New York, Jackson is going to be more involved using the coaching workforce in 2015is that16.
“Medically speaking, I think he is a full go”, coach Derek Fisher said Friday.
“I just think that he is healthy and feels good about his body and where he sees himself going”, Fisher said. “I wanted Derek to be his own person, have his own feel for this”, Jackson said. Not in the piece of coaching, but simply in existing and talking about National Basketball Association and cherished in evaluations. “I think I’ll be probably more involved than I was a year ago in just being here and being watchful, suggestive, watching film together with Derek at times”.
Jackson said he plans to watch more game video with Fisher and his staff. We couldn’t have foreseen the amount of injuries and changes that took place with our team.
One thing no one was willing to do, however, was make any predictions about how successful the Knicks will be this season.
Carmelo Anthony has been working out and scrimmaging with his Knicks teammates and is expected to open training camp next week with no limitations after undergoing season-ending surgery in February.
The optics on this don’t reflect kindly on Fisher, who lost 65 games last season and felt that he needed help from Jackson.
“I want to stay away from expectations”.
New York has brought in some fresh faces, such as rookies Kristaps Porzingis and Jerian Grant, as well as the likes of Robin Lopez and Arron Afflalo, but Anthony still figures to be the biggest key to its success in 2015-16. “It is such a long season”.
Carmelo’s current five-year, $124 million contract has a no-trade clause, which means he is in control which team should land his services. “And I usually stick my nose in there for a couple minutes and say, ‘How’d that play go at the end of the third quarter that kind of got squelched, or didn’t work out, or what happened at the end of the game, was that a bad call?” I think we will still gauge how much we want to put him under in terms of workload and stress in training camp and in the preseason.
