Jags LB Dan Skuta arrested on misdemeanor battery charges
It was reported by the National Football Post’s Aaron Wilson on Monday that Skuta was arrested on June 19 for misdemeanor battery.
The report said Skuta, “began talking to her and flirting with her. When Skuta asked for [her] phone number [and] she told him, ‘No, ‘ a verbal altercation ensued”. Then, according to the Orlando Police Deparment through actionnewsjax.com, Skuta used an open hand to push the woman’s face into a glass window. She was not visibly injured when the cops were called to the scene, but the officer did indicate that Skuta smelled of alcohol and had “bloodshot/glassy eyes”.
The woman declined medical attention but said she wanted to press charges against Skuta, police wrote.
He figured to be in rotation with Miles Jack, although with all the buzz surrounding Jack and his obvious talent, would be more of a role player after starting in half of the Jaguars games last season.
He was released from jail on a $500 bond and is set for a July 20 court appearance.
‘The team has been in constant communication with Dan through this process in its entirety. However, they could get affected by linebacker Dan Skuta being arrested earlier this month.
The NFL offseason has gotten off to a rocky start for Dan Skuta. No further comment can be made at this time, ‘ the statement concluded. He finished the campaign with one and a half sacks and 40 tackles.
