Jaguar confirms new F-Pace pricing
Despite its bulk, the F-Pace is light and features the same torsional stiffness as the new XF – Jaguar’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture translates to an aluminium-intensive body structure, with 80% aluminium, and additional weight savings come from the composite tailgate and magnesium for certain parts.
In spectacular fashion, Jaguar finally introduced its first-ever luxury SUV, the 2017 F-PACE, at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Powered by the 296bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the First Edition will wear its own bespoke metallic paint colour – Caesium Blue harking back to the C-X17 concept unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and from which the F-Pace evolved.
Other key elements of the Jaguar F-Pace include torque vectoring, adaptive dynamics and configurable dynamics features.
It also features Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) that automatically applies the brakes when a hazard is present and the same cameras are used for the Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist alert systems. It’s compatible with automatic rear- and all-wheel drive variants. “Since that time we have been inundated with people asking us to make it and it was this growing interest that inspired us to create the F-PACE First Edition – a Special Edition to celebrate the C-X17 concept”, said Gerd Mauser, Chief Marketing Officer for Jaguar Land Rover. The cargo area has a capacity of 650 litres.
On the entertainment front there is the InControl Touch Pro system that uses a speedy 60GB SSD and ultra-fast Ethernet network to project information onto the 10.2-inch touchscreen, which brings crystal clear 2D and 3D GPS navigation into the auto . Featuring sharp, contemporary graphics and a 10-inch tablet style touch screen, the system is complemented by a suite of specially developed apps and a wifi hotspot that allows up to eight devices to connect at once.
For anyone that has a problem speeding, the vehicle features Traffic Sign Recognition to warn of speed limits and an Intelligent Speed Limiter that takes control of the throttle to keep the auto in line with the laws of the road.
