Jahlil Okafor got in second fight
There has been a lot made about Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jahlil Okafor on the court with his incredible production, but more disappointing has been what has transpired off the court.
Coming off of a win against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers were looking to win their second straight game against the New York Knicks in a back-to-back, but that was made very hard with some events that transpired throughout the day.
But if there’s one bright spot amid all this losing and blaming, it should be rookie center/forward Jahlil Okafor.
Jahlil Okafor got not in one, but – at least – two fights while out in Boston last week, with new footage showing the Sixers star throwing punches at a heckler farther down the street that same night. “At this point I am cooperating and respecting the process I have to go through”, Okafor tweeted.
“Let’s make our point”.
With a dark start to his professional career, Okafor knows he has to clean up his act and hopefully, he holds true to his word that he will do such immediately. “Nobody’s proud of this right now and so we will support him, he’s ours and we will move on”. He said he told 76ers coach Brett Brown about what happened during the team’s plane ride to Houston. “We’re still dealing with the league and with the team, but I’m not happy about it at all”. He told us (sketchily) that he was in a situation that he regretted. And the thing I do say is that when I spent time with Jahlil in his room today, he’s ashamed, he’s embarrassed. Sports, 76ers top pick in the 2015 NBA Draft got into an altercation after the team suffered its 16 straight loss.
“It was definitely dumb on my part”, Okafor said Friday. Only days after that video was released, TMZ has obtained another video which shows Okafor getting into another physical altercation later that same night. The victim filed a report with the Boston Police Department, and police have urged any other possible victims to come forward.
